Eco-Friendly Tourism in Bali: Ini Vie Hospitality’s Commitment to Sustainability

Bali is currently placing a strong focus on environmental health, driven by growing concerns over various global environmental issues and their adverse impacts on society. As a result, numerous sectors, including tourism, are prioritizing sustainability initiatives.

Ini Vie Hospitality stands as a prominent contributor to sustainability within the tourism sector. Guided by a vision and mission that aim to create value not only for guests but also for the broader community, Ini Vie Hospitality’s dedication to sustainable practices has been recognized with an award from Eco Tourism Bali, along with both Golden and Silver Badges. 

The eco-friendly initiatives are divided into four key categories: resource conservation, pollution reduction, preservation of biodiversity, ecosystems, and landscapes, and social benefits for local communities. Specific actions taken within each category include:

Resource Conservation:

  • Minimizing plastic use and prioritizing products made from recycled materials
  • Reducing reliance on single-use products
  • Repurposing food waste into valuable products, such as crafting jam from surplus fruit, creating body scrubs from coffee grounds, and drying overripe fruits for use as garnishes
  • Providing waste bins categorized by type to encourage effective recycling
  • Conserving electricity by configuring various electronic devices for energy efficiency
  • Managing water resources by installing Ultra-Low Consumption (ULC) systems at each ground tank

Pollution Reduction:

  • Offering low-emission transportation options, such as electric motorbikes and buggy cars
  • Recycling food waste into fertilizer
  • Selling used oil and soiled linens to certified vendors for proper disposal and repurposing
  • Eliminating the use of fogging practices in daily operations

Conservation of Biodiversity, Ecosystems, and Landscapes:

  • Establishing local plant nurseries to enhance greenery within villa and resort areas
  • Participating in mangrove conservation activities with team members
  • Partnering with Plastic Bank Indonesia to prevent plastic bottles from entering the ocean

Social Benefits for Local Communities:

  • Prioritizing local vendors and suppliers for villa and resort procurement needs
  • Creating employment opportunities for residents in surrounding communities
  • Organizing regular property and area cleaning initiatives
  • Supporting neighboring villages by providing resources, such as waste bins, for improved waste management

The initiatives outlined above highlight our commitment to being an active participant in the eco-movement within the hospitality sector. As a result of these efforts, seven of our properties have been honored by Eco Tourism Bali, with two properties receiving Gold Badges and five properties awarded Silver Badges.
